Y2Y COPMIY2Y COPMI  is a peer support program for young people between 15-25years who have a parent/parent with a mental illness. With the advent of the Y2Y COPMI program Wanslea is now working collaboratively with young people to develop  a framework for understanding the stigma of mental illness and implementing strategies for increasing young people’s stigma resistance.

The program is informed by young people and connects four key aspects of youth development : Peer Support, Peer Leadership, Peer Education and Peer Mentoring. Combined these functions of Y2Y involve the building of significant, beneficial relationships that allow young people to identify, explore and develop strengths that reduce and resist the stigma of mental illness. Y2Y aims to assist young people to become more comfortable, competent and confident in addressing the stigma of mental illness within their personal, family, social, school and community contexts.
