Tom Calma - National Coordinator for Tackling Indigenous Smoking

Tom Calma is a big deal in Indigenous health in Australia! Tom is former co-chair and founding chair of the Close the Gap campaign. National Close the Gap Day was established by the campaign and is now celebrated annually. He also held the role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.  Tom's work in advocating for improvements in Indigenous Health has now seen him be appointed the inaugural National Coordinator for Tackling Indigenous Smoking.  For more information click here.

Mick Adams has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to the advancement of Indigenous health.  Dr Adamsbcompleted a PhD in public health and since has held a range of positions with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations, representative organisations and government departments over his career. In the past ten years, Dr Adams has held a number of senior positions including Chairperson of the NACCHO; and  Chief Executive Officer of the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Forum.
